Scott Cazan

Scott Cazan

is a performer/composer and sound artist specializing in the performance of experimental electronic music where he explores human relations with technology, the act of listening and the physicality of sound. 

Scott has performed, shown his work, and received numerous commissions with organizations such as REDCAT, Machine Project, the CEAIT Festival (with Better Than Future), Calarts, Feldstarke International (in association with CENTQUATRE, PACT Zollverein, and Calarts), Art Cologne, the University of California, and many others. He has collaborated and shared the stage along with a variety of artists such as Ulrich Krieger, Mark Trayle, Michael Pisaro, Sara Roberts, Wadada Leo Smith, Jason Kahn, Art Jarvinen, and many others.

He holds a BFA from the University of California, Santa Barbara and an MFA from the California Institute of the Arts where he has studied with Mark Trayle, Michael Pisaro, Sara Roberts, Ulrich Krieger, and Morton Subotnick among others. He teaches at institutions such as the University of California, Santa Barbara and the California Institute of the Arts.
He currently teaches and performs regularly in the Los Angeles area and his music can be heard on Khalija Records.
