Philippe Lauzier - bassclarinet/alto saxophone

Born 1977. Active as an improviser and composer, Philippe is working with projects from improvised to contemporary music, acoustic to electronic, jazz and music for dance performances. He’s interested in a wide range of sounds from primitive to modern references. His most active project these days is a duo with gambist Pierre-Yves Martel called Sainct Laurens, with performances across Europe and Canada and a recent CD released. Lauzier is active part of the Montreal-scene, and has worked with among others Martin Tétreault, Kim Myhr, Isaiah Ceccarelli, Jim Denley, Miles Perkin, Michel F Côté, Diane Labrosse, Pierre Tanguay, Nils Ostendorf and Philip Zoubek.
