Sonja LaBianca

Sonja LaBianca is a Danish/American musician and composer. Sonja has been a creative force in several groups from the blooming Copenhagen music scene for many years, among them Selvhenter, Valby Vokalgruppe & Choir of Young Believers. Sonja is one of five co-founders of the art collective and label Eget Værelse (egetvaerelse.dk). In spring 2017 Eget Værelse released Sonja's debut album About Room/Room to Be/Rooms. Presenting compositions for acoustic saxophone, the music explores resonance phenomena when the saxophone is played against objects and in spaces with particular characteristics. The album was awarded a Danish Music Award Jazz 2017 and Steppeulven 2018.
