Air Signs

On the occasion of our residency Air Signs in ausland we – William Wheeler and Stefan Pente – will performatively activate questions vital to both of our individual as well as collaborative work: how to speak to images (depictions, imaginations, narratives) that speak to us. Memories and histories, both personal and collective, will be questioned with and without language, through the effort of our own bodies, through movement and (sometimes spoken) interaction with objects/images and groups of objects/images.

What we would like to do on the evening of our public showing is to elaborate and show and present and dance and surf silence in the presence of images and objects whose appearance will shift, emerge, be unmounted, suddenly become completely submerged and will rise from a visual grid that provides spaces for topics that have, over time, become so important to us.
