Apocryphal Productions presents the story of Rumpelstiltskin. Told through aspects of animation, projection, shadow puppetry, and hand puppets, the performance moves freely through the boundaries of movie screen and live theater. Delving, not only into the physical depth of field, but also into the conscious of Rumpelstiltskin himself, bringing to the fore his motives and desires for a human child of royalty. Drawing upon the ritual performances of many cultures to create a unique mythology that reflects, and is influenced by, beliefs and traditions from around the world, it revitalizes an ancient folk tale to develop a new creative mythology.

Apocryphal Productions präsentiert die Geschichte vom Rumpelstilzchen. Erzählt durch Animation, Videoprojektion, Schattenpuppen und Handpuppen, bewegt sich die Aufführung frei zwischen den Grenzen der Filmleinwand und des Theaters. Nicht nur die physikalische Schärfentiefe, sondern auch das Bewusstsein von Rumpelstilzchen selbst wird erforscht und so die Motive und Wünsche eines königlichen menschlichen Kindes zum Vorschein gebracht. Rituale vieler Kulturen werden nachgezeichnet, um eine einzigartige Mythologie zu erschaffen, die Glaube und Traditionen aus der ganzen Welt reflektiert und von ihnen beeinflusst wird.
