Performance as Sound / Sound as Performance

For the next edition of VULVA CLUB seven artists are going to - in one way or another - approach performance and sound from many angles through their artistic practices.

How does a sound perform, and how does a performance sound?

In this evening individual proposals are interwoven into one event that considers the audience choreography a crucial aspect in conditioning the space.

VULVA CLUB is a collaborative event (hosted by female trouble) of talks, screenings, actions and performances by Berlin based artist and guests, amplifying underrepresented feminist/queer perspectives. It regularly brings people together around an intellectual challenge and encourages dialogue, applied discourse, experimental practices and mutual fertilisation. VULVA CLUB has been co-hosted at KuLe, Vierte Welt, Kleiner Salon, Boys Club and private homes in Berlin.

female trouble are a friendship based collective (Roni Katz, Agata Siniarska, Xenia Taniko Dwertmann) working in Berlin since 2013. We share a mutual process of artistic, intellectual, personal and political exchange revolving around identities, bodies, femininities and feminisms. female trouble initiated the platform VULVA CLUB with the objective of bolstering and activating a community. On other occasions, we perform our practice of circulating scores that accumulates and reformulates three bodies reading, writing and dancing with one another through mutual affection in real time.
