Franz Hanemann
Franz Hanemann is a graduate engineer (Dipl.-Ing.) for media technology, and although his main focus is recording and reinforcing sound, he feels very comfortable at the interface between the arts. He has been working for public radio and television, concerts, festivals, clubs, touring bands, multimedia performances, independent radio projects, off-theatre, as well as self-managed social centers and d.i.y. sound system projects.
He started collecting records and recording mixtapes at the age of 14, teaching himself DJ-techniques autodidactically, and went on to produce radio shows and organize cultural events and club nights. In his DJ-sets he balances technical skill with dubby improvisations – mixing rhythm and bass music of all tempos.
Considering himself more a technician and a tool than an artist, Franz cherishes the many collaborations with musicians and performance artists he has had the pleasure to be a part of.
Franz is a participant of the all the rivers residency in ausland 2026 – as a member of Pomegranate Collective (working title)
