Hazem Saleh

Hazem Saleh

is a Syrian dramaturg and screenwriter. He studied theatre studies at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Damascus and participated in numerous workshops at the Damascus Theatre Lab. He has written two short films and was an active member of interactive theatre projects in Syrian refugee camps.
Together with director Alaa El Din Al-alem, he worked as a dramaturg on a 2015 stage production of No Exit in Damascus. He was also a guest dramaturg at the Maxim Gorki Theater and worked as a dramaturg on a dance theatre production in Berlin.
Hazem worked as a Research Observer on the performance Reality Check by Mey Seifan. He also served as Script Supervisor on the feature film Xoftex, directed by Noaz Deshe, which premiered at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival and the Munich International Film Festival. Hazem has also written several articles on theatre and film critique.
