The Insisting Body is a lecture-performance and installation developed from a month-long durational performance carried out across thirty sites in Berlin marked by historical and contemporary violence. Each day, the artist remained motionless in public space for a predetermined duration, beginning with one hour and gradually reducing the duration to fifteen minutes by the final day, allowing the body to become both witness and archive.

Rather than representing violence, the work investigates how violence continues to inhabit places through repetition, memory, and institutional structures. The project understands choreography in its original sense; as the inscription of place through the body. Through stillness, exhaustion, sound, projected documentation, and spatial interventions, the performance unfolds as a living cartography that asks what remains after violence has disappeared from view.

Presented as an expanded lecture-performance and installation, the work combines performance, documentation, research, and audio description, inviting audiences to reflect on duration, witnessing, and the politics of visibility.
